New Week (+0.0 Units) (0-0-0)

(Odds Based on Bovada)

I was stuck at jury duty the last few days and could not get these columns done. Now that I am out, we are back! If you stuck with me last week, there was a net positive week. Let’s just keep going and let’s keep winning. I am here to make you guys money and last week was my proof of concept. So now, let’s bet.

My 5 Best Bets of the Day

  1. Under 10.5 Runs (-110) (Miami Marlins at Boston Red Sox)

The Red Sox have had an extremely stagnant lately after dropping three straight to the Tampa Bay Rays. I foresee a low scoring game, I could see the Red Sox winning comfortably but the final score being 5-0 or somewhere around that. Even if the Red Sox can score 6+ runs, Brian Johnson should hold the Marlins to a low run total. Red sox probably win by a few runs, but I cannot see 11 runs being scored in this game, in any universe.

  1. Under 9 Runs (-105) (New York Mets at Chicago Cubs) (-105)

A similar analysis to the pick above, the Cubs will win this game handedly, but with a bottom of the league offense, I just cannot see more than 6 or 7 total runs being scored in this game, mostly by the Cubs. deGrom and Hamels have been lights out as of late which adds to the reasons to bet the under.

  1. Oakland Athletics (+190) at Houston Astros

A divisional rivalry, incredible odds, two teams fighting to not be a wild card team. Trust me here, these odds are impossible to refuse.

  1. Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals (-1.5 Runs) (+120)

The Cardinals are the hottest team in baseball after Oakland’s slump. Jack Flaherty has been incredible lately with a 1.42 over his last three, going up against Ivan Nova, with a 4.20 ERA over the year. These ERA’s should tell you all you need to know. That, along with the fact that the Cardinals offense is led by Matt Carpenter, the NL MVP leader, should give you confident to bet the Cardinals -1.5 runs.

  • New York Mets at Chicago Cubs (-1.5 Runs) (+165)

Cole Hamels is pitching for the Cubs and he has a 0.79 ERA since joining the cubs. deGrom is still the MLB leader in ERA. I believe that the starters are a wash and for that it transitions to the bullpen and the offense. The Cubs should win this game destroying the Mets bullpen and the -1.5 runs seems like a steal with odds of +165.
