World Series Preview: Game 6 Houston Strong
October 31, 2017The Houston Astros are 9 innings away from winning their first World Series title in franchise history. For a team that moved from the NL to now the AL and has had a beautiful young system and young talent it is a nice thing to see come together. The Astros will have their postseason hero, Justin Verlander, on the mound ready to lead the charge for the Stros. He is gonna look to pitch the best game he has in his career tonight, so that not only he, but the Astros come home with their first title and make the city of Houston proud.
Houston was devastated by Hurricane Harvey and the city has united to do its best and put a lot into this baseball team, so much that it would be impossible for them to lose. In their final game at Minute Maid Park, they left a memorable game in a walk-off win 13-12 in 10 innings sending the fans of Houston home happy and hoping to see their team clinch tonight. If the bats keep performing like they have this whole series, and Verlander gives them 6 or 7 innings of 0 or 1 run baseball, I think it’ll be the Astros hoisting the Commissioner’s Trophy at around 11:30 ET. Yes, this will be a big win for the Astros organization, but an even bigger win for the city for what it has gone through the last couple months. This reminds me of the 2013 season after the Boston Marathon Bombing the city of Boston was in so much shock and grief and the slogan used was “Boston Strong”. Same thing here in Houston, as they have coined the phrase “Houston Strong”.
I believe that the Astros have their best chance to win tonight coming off a huge swing in morale after a big win Sunday, they have their top postseason performing pitcher on the mound and their offense just scored 13 runs two nights ago. The time is now for Houston to strike and I think it’ll be the Astros coming away with a 5-3 victory to win it for the fans, the organization, and the entire city. The drought is over engrave the trophy with “2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros”.
