Best Landing Spots for Dez Bryant
September 11, 2018BY: Nick Kazandjian, Football Analyst
One of the NFL’s top wideouts for the last several years is on the block but can’t seem to pull in any offers. Dez Bryant is currently a free agent and could make a big time impact on some teams. I’m going to explore some potential destinations and why I think he could be a great fit there. Dez is in NFL ready shape and has been ready to play this season and has said on Twitter that he will likely sign somewhere soon. Last season, Bryant had 69 receptions for 838 yards, while pulling in 6 TD’s.
San Francisco 49ers
Dez would be great in San Fran. He has a great QB in Jimmy Garoppolo and some great fellow wideouts in Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon but not much beyond that. The Niners are desperate for another target to help strengthen their wide receiver core and could definitely use another talented option for Jimmy to throw to. They also have Richard Sherman who has always expressed his level of respect for Dez. I think they have a good young system in place and Dez could take more of a veteran role on this team.
New England Patriots
Naw I’m ok.. I rather go somewhere I can show case my skills for real.. if I line up next to Gronk hogan Edelman I’m for sure getting a 1 on 1 match up plus I won’t be getting criticized controlled for expressing my love for the game..Washington is cool as well https://t.co/lywVw8QzIa

The Patriots would be a great fit for Dez as well. They have been able to handle big “characters” in their locker room in the past. Dez is a very outspoken and passionate player on the field and that’s embraced in New England. They have been able to have multiple vocal guys in their locker room including Randy Moss and Tom Brady. Dez has expressed big interest in New England.
He tweeted last night in response to a fan asking him to return to Dallas, “…I rather go somewhere I can show case my skills for real.. if I line up next to Gronk hogan Edelman I’m for sure getting a 1 on 1 match up plus I won’t be getting criticized controlled for expressing my love for the game…”
Dez is very correct. A unit comprised of Edelman, Dez, Hogan, and Gronk would be extremely dangerous.
Cleveland Browns
Cleveland has shown they can compete by tieing the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday 21-21. With the addition of Dez, the Browns would be looking like a pretty scary offense. They would add another weapon to an already talented offense, featuring the likes of Jarvis Landry, Josh Gordon, and an extremely deep run game with Carlos Hyde, Nick Chubb, and Duke Johnson. They also have both Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield at Quarterback making them one of the deepest and most talented offenses in the league. Crazy to actually type that one out, but it would be true with the addition of Dez.
Washington Redskins
Washington has 3 middle of the pack receivers, but lack an elite talent in the passing game. Between Jamison Crowder, Paul Richardson, and Josh Doctson their receiving core is equally talented and can give good performances every week. If the Redskins could acquire the likes of Dez Bryant, they could finally have that extremely dominant receiver that they can go to in the 4th quarter on a comeback drive. With one of the most consistent and smartest QB’s in the league slinging the rock in Alex Smith it would make Washington a much more dynamic offense.
Longshot: Chicago Bears
Now I know there has not been any conversation about Dez heading to Chicago, but think about it. The Bears lost a heartbreaker to the Packers Sunday night and are looking to compete in an extremely strong division. Outside of Allen Robinson, the Bears have no strong wideouts pushing into the forefront. Robinson and Bryant would be a strong 1-2 to have at Trubisky’s disposal. IF the Bears want to make a big jump this season Dez would be a great addition.
