Are These NBA Teams Legit? Part 3
March 7, 2018We’re finally back and here with the third and final part of this series of “Are these NBA Teams legit or not. We have already looked through great teams like the Raptors or the Warriors, but still have three more teams today to go over. Read more to see if your favorite team has a chance to make it to the NBA Finals.
Cleveland Cavaliers
This is the most interesting team in the NBA. After LeBron came back, they have yet to miss an NBA finals. However, Kyrie Irving left town and this entire team changed. Everybody was shocked and thought the team could not possibly do anything else to shake up the roster after that, but they were wrong. This team had one of the biggest trade deadlines out of any team in NBA history. The entire roster has been redone and from what it seems like, it has helped. The team chemistry is starting to gel and wins are kind of coming in. The team is barely holding onto the three seed in the East. Everyone knows, however, the thing with the Cavs is that they have LeBron James. All LeBron does is win games in the playoffs. It’s like he is a complete different person when that season starts. Making a prediction here for this team is very difficult as literally anything isn’t out of the question with the Cavs. However, all anybody has to remember from recent history is LeBron in the Finals and I just don’t see a team from the East being able to stop him from that in a 7 game series. At this point, the Cavs are LeBron’s team and his team only. If he carries them as he always does, they will go far, but if he starts to drop off, then this team could be sent packing and sent packing very early.
Portland Trail Blazers
Ask me two weeks ago about this team and I would have told you they’re a first round boot. Ask me now and they seem like they have a real chance to give a team a run to make it to the Western Conference finals. Damian Lillard is on an absolute tear as 35 points a night seems easy to him. This team is really gelling and if I were a Western Conference Playoff team I would be very scared. This team has everything in place to win a first round playoff game versus a team like the Spurs or Timberwolves. The real roadblock for this team will come in the second round when they have to face the Rockets or the Warriors. The only possible way I see the Trail Blazers pulling the upset here is if history is made. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum will have to play the best basketball of their entire career, combining for 60 or even 70 points a night. I would love to see this team go far in the playoffs, but a couple of off nights from their stars could end this team’s dreams very quickly.
Houston Rockets
The team with the best record in all of the NBA is the Houston Rockets. At 50-13 the Rockets have been unstoppable with James Harden and Chris Paul on the floor. They’re 33-1 every night Harden, Paul, and Clint Capela are on the court. This team is currently on a remarkable 16 game win streak and it does not seem like it is ending any time soon. James Harden is a 40 point, triple- double waiting to happen and having a Hall of Fame player like Chris Paul as a compliment to that seems a bit unfair. This team will fly through the playoffs, making it to the Western Conference Finals versus you guessed it… the Golden State Warriors. This will create a crazy battle, one that will be amazing to watch and where offenses will be going crazy. I hope this game goes to seven because if it does it will be the most exciting series to watch in this year’s NBA playoffs.
