Tailgate’s live update of 2018 NFL Awards

MVPTom Brady-becomes the oldest MVP in the history of the NFL, finishing with 4,577 yards, 32 TDs and 8 INTs.

Offensive Player of the YearTodd Gurley experienced a career rebirth in 2017-2018, accounting for the most scrimmage yards in the league.  He was the spark plug for this Rams revitalized top tier offense.

Defensive Player of the Year-Aaron Donald joins Todd Gurley to become the first teammate duo to win these awards since 2003.  Donald was a menace all year, commanding double teams and still recording 11 sacks and 5 forced fumbles.

Offensive Rookie of the Year Alvin Kamara was simply a beast all season for the Saints.  Whatever needed to be done, he came up explosive in every offensive facet.   The rookie had 728 rushing yards and 826 receiving yards on 81 catches.  Adding on a kick return for a TD, he had 14 total.  That’s crazy!

Defensive Rookie of the YearMarshon Lattimore makes another teammate pair.  He tacked on 5 interceptions as part of a good defensive unit for the Saints.

Coach of the YearSean McVay actually ran away with this one, surprisingly, yet he did lead his team to a 11-5 record and an NFC West Title.

Other cool awards include-Pat Shurmur as Assistant Coach of the Year and Keenan Allen rightfully earning Comeback Player of the Year.

Looking back at it, some of us predicted better than others (@Erik).  Julio Jones?? TJ Watt??

Shoutout to Liam Rose, Paul Choma, and Dom for perfect scores!! Y’all make me proud.
