5 Reasons to Actually Watch The Pro Bowl

The NFL Pro Bowl is the least exciting all star game for the major sports. The players do not try due to injury and there is virtually nothing on the line. However, there are still plenty of reasons to watch and things for fans of football to appreciate.
Big Names: In the Pro Bowl are the NFL’s best and most talented players. Yeah, many of the players decline the invitation to attend, but the overall quality of players in the game just cannot be matched even after some players chose to respectfully decline. In this game there is a matchup to watch in just about every point whether is a stud defensive lineman firing off each side or amazing cornerback versus receiver matchups. Regardless of the effort put forth by these players, it is impossible for any other game to match the talent that is presented in the Pro Bowl.
Fake Plays: Since most coaches do not like to call too many of these when the games actually matter they save them for the Pro Bowl. From things like flea flickers to fake punts, anything is an option at this game. Even if it’s just for a few seconds these trick plays can generate some excitement for fans.
Skills Challenge: They have done this in the recent past and it has been pretty interesting to watch. The NFL’s top players compete in different challenges like relay races, passing and catching drills and even dodgeball. They do not take much time to watch at all and in my opinion are a good edition to the main game.
Mic’d Up: In the Pro Bowl many of the players are mic’d up, which allows you to hear what they say during the game. Things like when the QB calls out the play call are cool to hear because in a normal game you are not given that opportunity.

Guys are Just Having Fun: In a league where players make millions of dollars every year there is not much time for play time. In the regular season and the playoffs these guys are trying to win and will do anything to accomplish it. However, the Pro Bowl is where they can laugh and really do whatever they want without having to worry. Sometimes it’s a nice break to watch guys playing for fun and not for competition.
