First to Home: MLB Rundown September 4th

Orioles Win on Walkoff: The Orioles continued their momentum Sunday when they pulled out a big 5-4 win against the Blue Jays in 12 innings. Mark Trumbo delivered his league leading fourth walk-off hit of the season while Jonathan Schoop continues to be the team’s MVP this season. Still though the playoffs is an uphill battle.

Astros Sweep: Recently acquired Cameron Maybin hit a three run bomb on Sunday to lead the Astros to an 8-6 win over the Mets, completing the series sweep. Carlos Correa delivered with a hit and RBI in his long awaited return from the DL.

Brewers With the HUGE Sweep: Definition of a gritty team. They don’t have a single star on their roster, yet they continue to get it done. The Brew Crew took 3 of 4 from the Nats this weekend behind a balanced offensive attack and outstanding starts from their staff. They have come from as far as 6.5 games back in the last month to now a mere .5 game deficit behind the wavering Rockies. That being said…Am I sold? No. Rockies get in.

Have the Indians Lost Yet?: No. 11 Straight. Jose Ramirez is scolding hot at the dish (.538 last 7 games). And Kluber? Ya it’s his Cy Young to lose. Officially WS or bust in the Land.

Twins Lose Heartbreaker: A late Royals 2 RBI triple off the bat of Lorenzo Cain crumpled the Twins on Sunday on a day they could have gained ground on the Angels. This Wild Card Race is officially fierce with less than a month to play. Orioles and Angels 1.5 back of them and the Mariners hanging around at 2.5. Wild Times.
