The Scariest “Human” on the Planet

James Harrison has casually taken the internet by storm again through his Instagram posting his off season workout routines.  His brute strength is enough to strike fear into the eyes of God, as he showcased himself pushing a plate loaded sled of 1,800 Pounds about five yards.  Just to put a little perspective on this feat, the average smart car weighs around 1,500 pounds, so Harrison pushed 1.2 times this cars weight about 15 feet in 17 seconds.  If these numbers don’t qualify you as a super athlete then I’m not sure what would.  In addition, another shocking number is Harrison’s age, 39…  This stud of a linebacker is 39 years old and is still putting in work that players almost half his age can’t imagine on their strongest day.

This isn’t the only outrageous lifting video on James’ Instagram. In fact, if you just scroll through his page it’s almost hard to find one video that isn’t outrageous.  In his posts you’ll find him benching four hundred plus pounds for reps along with variations that add up to 500 pounds.  This might sound less impressive than pushing 1,800 pounds, but training with this weight and reps on the bench could be on the professional level for powerlifting, which is impressive enough considering Harrison is already a pro althete in football.

One stat that displays how strong many of the players are in the NFL is that Harrison was limited to only five sacks last season.  With Harrison’s explosive strength, in addition to his game time adrenaline, it is a validation to the linemen’s power to prevent such a powerful charge.  Including all the running backs, receivers, and quarterbacks who have gotten right back up after taking a crushing hit from this action figure built linebacker.

With the 2017-2018 season around the corner the Steelers can only hope that this beast like off field training will yield great results on the field for both Harrison himself and the team as they look to make another playoff push this season.
